20-year-old Texan Jak Crawford will make his F1 weekend debut in FP1 in Mexico City this weekend, replacing Lance Stroll in the Aston Martin.

The outing marks one of the team's mandated rookie outings this season, providing valuable data while supporting the development of young talent.

The Houston-born racer has gained extensive mileage in Formula One machinery over the years, with over 2,000 kms logged driving the AMR22, AMR23 and last year's AMR24. He has also been a regular inside the simulator at the AMR Technology Centre in Silverstone, consistently providing valuable feedback to support both the AMR25 and development work on the AMR26.

Additionally, he's been part of Aston Martin Aramco's wider activity, taking part in the 2024 Houston demo run and joining Fernando Alonso last week in Houston to unveil the team's bespoke livery ahead of the United States Grand Prix.

Crawford is currently enjoying a standout Formula 2 campaign, sitting second in the championship as the season heads into the final two races. He most recently claimed pole position and victory in the Feature Race in Baku.

"I'm thrilled to drive the AMR25 in Mexico for my first official Formula One session," said Crawford. "I've worked closely with the team all year, so to now take the next step and get track time on a Grand Prix weekend is really exciting.

"It's fantastic to give Jak the opportunity to take part in FP1 in Mexico," added Andy Cowell. "He's shown real maturity and provided strong technical feedback throughout the year, and these sessions are an important part of how we develop young talent. Jak has had a strong season in Formula 2 and has been a key contributor to the development of both the AMR25 and AMR26. This is a great chance for him to continue progressing while helping us gather valuable data."
